Kiel James Patrick Bracelet Love

What prep doesn't love Kiel James Patrick bracelets? They are super nautical, with a gold anchor clasp, and come in such classic colors. The designs are by the super adorable couple Kiel James Patrick and Sarah Vickers. I consider Sarah Vickers one of my biggest style inspirations and she has her own blog now, Classy Girls Wear Pearls.

They are also doing a collaboration with Lilly Pulitzer right now... oh my goodness. They are using Lilly Pulitzer fabrics from past collections interwoven with the rope to create a wonderful preppy product. They are even giving away two of the Lilly and KJP bracelets on Classy Girls Wear Pearls right now!

Here is how I would wear a Kiel James Patrick bracelet. I imagine this outfit at an end-of-summer backyard barbecue and I am really in love with the J.Crew Nautical Shorts... totally complimentary to the KJP nautical bracelet!

Sloane Ranger Smartphone Wristlet: Review and Giveaway

I recently did a post on Sloane Ranger and all of the adorable accessories they make, from totes with whales to laptop sleeves with scottie dogs. Today I want to tell you about the awesome smartphone wristlet Sloane Ranger sent me to review.

I have been really wanting a wristlet that I can take out with me and just carry the necessities. As much as I love my purses, sometimes I just really hate carrying such a big bag with me, especially if I am out somewhere crowded.

That is where the Sloane Ranger Smartphone Wristlets come in. I can put my iPhone in it securely and my credit cards, ID, etc. and be good to go. It is small but has a strap so I can hold it close. Everyone knows I love nautical items and anchors, so I knew the anchors were perfect for me when I saw the pattern options. I think the whales and the plaid are both super cute too though!

Here is your chance to win this adorable little guy:

Red Lipstick Love

Yesterday, I bought the first red lipstick of my life. I never, ever vary my beauty routine so this was a big deal for me. I also usually just play up my eyes and use Carmex on my lips. For some reason though, I have been wanting some red lipstick lately. I think it can look so classic if done right, so I stopped by the Chanel counter at Neimans and they found the best shade for me. I wore it all day today with yellow jeans and a button down and I loved it! I felt really bold and sophisticated.

I also saw a girl wearing red lipstick with her Saint James tee and I thought she looked great! Here is my version of her outfit:

Does anyone have any fabulous red lip tips for me?

I have another question for you too: Does anyone use either La Mer Moisturizing Creme, or the Chanel equivalent?

I would like to get one and hear both are fabulous, so I am torn! Advice wanted!

Friday Fancies: Mimosa Love

It's Friday and I think we all deserve a brunch with bottomless mimosas! My parents are coming to Austin this weekend to visit and I think we will definitely be having one or two brunches on a rooftop patio with refreshing summer drinks.

This weeks Friday Fancies was supposed to be an outfit inspired by our favorite summer treat. I thought of many different treats I love, from cupcakes to champagne, but most of my favorites can be enjoyed year-round. There is something about mimosas that just scream summer to me. I always feel you should be sitting outside sipping them from a tall flute in a sundress and sandals. Doesn't that just sound ideal?

Resort Style: Calypso St. Barth Love

We are so close to the weekend. We can do it. Until then, let's pretend we are at an island resort somewhere and we are wearing Calypso St. Barth. There are some outfits for hanging out on the beaches, some outfits for strolling through the island streets stopping in little shops, and some outfits for meeting a cute summer fling at a local bar hangout. Let your imagination run free, even if you are trapped at a desk.

Prep School Supplies Love

So the other day I bought all my textbooks for the upccoming semester online. How did it already become that time? I don't know, but I'm a huge nerd who always really loved buying school supplies. This semester, there are so many cute things for back to school on Lifeguard Press and, since you may be thinking now about what you are going to need, whether you are in high school, college, law school, etc., I thought I would show you some of the cute things I am liking for next semester!

As a law student, the main thing I use, probably even above pens, is highlighters. My books look like a rainbow after the semester is over! I would love to make the semester more fun with Jonathan Adler (top) or Lilly Pulitzer (bottom) highlighters.

I don't really use pencils during the semester, but how cutttte are these erasers?! I am in love. I just want it to sit on my desk, even if I never use it!

I also don't have to do math really since most people go to law school to avoid doing math, but, if I did still have to do math, there is no better way than on a Lilly calculator!

I don't know when people got the idea that school has to be boring and uptight. Make every class period fun with these colorful notebooks!

Lilly pens, like this one in "Fallin In Love," could make notes about contracts and corporations much more enjoyable.

To help you stay awake, of course!

What are your back to school necessities?

AllSaints Beaded Dress Love

So I know I'm not the only preppylover who was watching The Bachelorette this season. I just loved Emily Maynard, Jef is adorable, her clothes were precious, and I couldn't be happier for them. I really enjoyed this season.

Emily had some great, classic clothing, but my favorite thing she wore the whole season was a beaded dress by AllSaints Spitalfields that she wore on her date with Jef in Curacao.

That isn't the best shot of it, but the dress was stunning. I think it would be perfect for a date event, going to a nice restaurant, a charity event, etc. This dress definitely takes a special occasion, though I think going out with your girlfriends after a long week can count as a special occasion too! Looking at the AllSsaints site, it looks like the actual dress she wore may be sold out now, but there are other gorgeous beaded dress.

The Embellished Pipali Dress. Wow. At almost $500, it is a little too pricey for me at this stage in my life, but I would wear it in a heartbeat if someone wants to buy it for me! Hint hint!

The Electric Vest Dress. This dress is more simple, though still amazing, and about half the price of the Pipali dress.

The Newaz Mini Dress. I don't love the colors on this one as much as the others, but it could definitely be really pretty in person and made fun with accessories.

The Newaz Dress. It definitely takes a confident woman to rock this hot little number!

Also, here is what I have on repeat this week:

- Love Like You by The Paper Tongues
- No Light, No Light by Florence and the Machine
- It's Not Your Fault by Awolnation
- Crave You (Adventure Club Remix) by Flight Facilities
and
- Heartbeats by Jose Gonzalez

Enjoy!

Fresh Flowers Love

This weekend I thought constantly about all the things that make me happy and living your life to the fullest. Some people say a near-death experience woke them up and made them realize life is precious. Some are starting to think about it after what happened in Colorado. Though, of course, I think about it after things like this happen as well, I try to live my life in a way that makes me happy every second. I am always trying to make resolutions to make my life better, not just once a year on New Year's Eve.

I read "The Happiness Project" a while ago and I think it makes you think a lot about it too. I really enjoyed that book because it shows you to think about all the things in your life that don't make you the happiest you could be right now, and how to take little steps to fix those.

For me, buying fresh flowers and having them in the house is one of the things that makes me really happy. Coming home from a long day and seeing those gorgeous works of nature can always put a smile on my face. I encourage you to go to your local florist or grocery today, buy an arrangement of your favorites flowers, and put them right where you can see them when you first walk in the door. You won't regret it.

I recently bought these sunny little guys at Central Market and they made my rented apartment so much brighter!

I love even a single flower in a vase. This is an inexpensive way to have fresh flowers without breaking the bank.

Tulips are easily my favorite.

There are so many different ways to display them that just a traditional vase too! Have fun with it!

Have a happy Monday!
